I am Ruiqi Chen, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. Previously, I was at the University of Washington, where I worked with Prof. Jon E. Froehlich in Makeability Lab and Prof. Jacob O. Wobbrock in ACE Lab. I also collaborate closely with Prof. Aditya Parameswaran at the University of California, Berkeley.

My research focuses on building and evaluating AI models and systems that align with human knowledge, goals, and values. More broadly, I am interested in how AI systems can better understand what people know, need, and care about, from and to and .
